Ministry of Defense Warns of Hezbollah Attacks Abroad
Deputy Foreign Minister Daniel Ayalon has verbally warned the Hezbollah not to harm any tourist or Israeli representative, after a senior official of the organization, Hashem Saif a-Din threatened that the "war of 2006 will seem like a joke".
The Israeli government is concerned that Hezbollah may attempt to take revenge for the killing of Imad Mughniyeh in Damascus in 2008, as the organization believes that Israel was behind his death.
Despite travel warnings, Haaretz reports that 330,000 Israelis traveled abroad during the first week of August, and hundreds of thousands more are expected to leave Israel on vacation during the holidays, in September and October.
