Philippines: 10 Killed and 18 Injured by Typhoon

The edges of Typhoon Morakot swept across the Philippines, killing 10 people, including 3 French tourists and their 2 tour guides. At least 18 people have been injured. CNN Meterologist Kevin Corriveau reported that while the storm was expected to pass over the Philippines by Saturday afternoon, Taiwan was still getting a lot of rain. Due to a recent period of drought, the ground is too dry to immediately absorb the large quantities of water, and Taiwan is experiencing mud and landslides, and flooding.
