US Journalists Released from Korean Jail

Laura Doug Ling and Euna Lee, American journalists imprisoned in North Korea, have been pardoned and are on their way back to the US – thanks to the efforts of former President Bill Clinton. The women had been reporting for the California news agency, Curren Media, when they were arrested on the border between North Korea and China. Clinton offered his apologies to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea for the "illegal acts" committed by the two women, and expressed extreme gratitude after they were released on humanitarian grounds. Clinton's mission was personally motivated, and he was not sent by President Obama or carrying any message from him.
