Egyptian Policeman Killed Near Israeli Border

Smugglers shot and killed an Egyptian policeman near the Israeli-Egyptian border Monday. Reuters News Agency reports that Egyptian police officers attempted to prevent smugglers from taking African refugees across the border into Israel. The policemen called out to the men to halt, and a gunfight broke out between the two groups. One of the Egyptian policemen was hit by the smugglers' fire, and died of his wounds.
