  • The Mission Continues

As in the past so it remains today - we were and still are under the selfsame commitment to adhere to the directions of the Gedolei Yisrael, who stand guard against breaches of purity threatening our camp. When we were required to ask – we asked. When we were instructed to depart – we left. Two sentences of five words, each made up of only two letters, are mentioned in the Bible.

Two interesting sentences appear in the Torah: each is made up of five words, and each word is made up of only two letters, the minimum amount of letters that can form a Hebrew word.

The first sentence appears in Genesis, 35:17, and is the statement of Rachel's' midwife during Rachel's hard labor: "And the midwife said: do not fear 'ki gam zeh lach ben' – for this, too, is a boy'".

The second sentence appears in Exodus, 17:16, and was said after the Israelites' war with Amalek in Rafidim: "And he said 'ki yad al kes kah' – for a hand is on G-d's throne'".
