‘Yad Sarah’, ‘Consultants for the Socio-Economic Council of the United Nations’ is the largest non-profit organization in the land of Israel. It was founded by the former mayor of Jerusalem, Rabbi Uri Lupolianski, who serves today as president of the organization.

The organization was established in the year 1976 (5736), and is centred mainly in Jerusalem with over 100 branches nationwide. Its annual budget, which covers the purchase of medical equipment and a wide range of medical and nursing services, stands at around 50- million NIS. In the year 1990 (5750), Yad Sarah won the ‘Kaplan Prize’ for economic efficiency, on account of its saving the state treasury 320 million NIS each year.

The title ‘Consultants for the Socio-Economic Council of the United Nations’, the highest title ever awarded to an Israeli-Jewish non government owned organization, was bestowed upon Yad Sarah after 29 years in action. The organization is named after the mother of its founder, Sarah Lupolianski.
