  • The Mission Continues

As in the past so it remains today - we were and still are under the selfsame commitment to adhere to the directions of the Gedolei Yisrael, who stand guard against breaches of purity threatening our camp. When we were required to ask – we asked. When we were instructed to depart – we left. The moment we are summoned back to raise the flag, every other consideration is pushed to the side and we answer: We are ready!

Letters Standing in the Air

The script used was one of the creations of twilight on the first Friday in history.

N. Lieberman 13/10/2009 09:00
The letters of the Ten Commandments were inscribed from side to side which meant that the inside of the letters ס (Samech) and ם (final Mem) were miraculously standing in the air.

The Tablets were made out of sapphire and the letters were written in a way in which the letters could be read from both sides of the tablets. In this way the inside part of the closed letters, Samech and final Mem were hanging in the air not being attached to the tablet itself. The inside of the letter not falling was a miracle in itself.

The script used for the Ten Commandments is one of ten things created at twilight of the first Friday. This is stated in Pirkei Avos (Ethics of our Fathers) Chapter five “Ten things were created at twilight between Friday and Shabbos; the mouth of the earth (that swallowed Dothon and Aviram), the mouth of the donkey (that spoke to Balaam the prophet), the rainbow, the manna, the Staff (that Moses used by the ocean), the Shamir worm (that king Solomon used in the Temple), the script, the inscription, and the Tablets“.

The letter final Mem appears in the Ten Commandment twenty two times and the letter Samech appears two times. All together the miracle repeated itself a total of twenty four times in the Tablets.
